Have you ever heard the quote that says; "what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger"?
Over time many people have said me this words, my mother, my father, my cousin and some friends. I realize many people believe that this quote is true because they feel that when they have a struggle or a problem it makes them stronger. I personally believe that the quote is completely false because I don't believe that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
I have had many struggles in live and the worst of them was a knee accident I had, after 2 years I still feel the pain in my knee, sometimes I think that I will never be able to have my normal life because I am not able to do many of the things I used to do, maybe the accident didn't killed me but it definitely never made me stronger.
Another example are the persons that go through a really bad diseases that are able to weaken a person so much but yet don't kill them. But even though they aren't dead they are still feeling pain and don't feel at all stronger than in the past.
I am going to show you a more realistic example, a woman I know has diabetes and maybe because she didn't took care of herself or the disease was very advanced they had to cut her a leg because the blood from it didn't circulated very good, she had a son whose name is Santiago and he is very little, he is 1 year old, what happened to her almost killed her because she wanted to spend a lot of time with his son and play around with him but she couldn't, she doesn't have so much money so she is struggling, now lets get to the point, the cutting of her leg didn't killed her but never made her stronger, instead it make her weaker emotionally and physically.
Another reason why I disagree is because maybe people in their outside show that they are getting stronger and they smile but in their heart they are probably in tears and wanting to die because they will never forget the pain they felt when they had problems or struggles in their life.
I have come to the conclusion that what didn't killed me never made me stronger at all because I can't forget the pain that I felt in my past.
